Trap Research Report

Introduction
There are many different types of flytraps available, which require different amounts of engineering and different designs.

Trap Type #1: Sticky Flytrap
Sticky flytraps are made of paper with glue on it. The engineering involved with this type of trap requires attracting the flies and making sure they stick to the paper and can't fly away. These traps are usually outside, so they also need to made of something that doesn't fall apart when it's rained on.

Trap Type #2: Electric Flytrap
Electric flytraps kill flies by zapping them with an electric charge, electrocuting the flies. The flies are attracted to the light and are killed when they come close enough to touch the trap. Engineering of electric flytraps involves: how much of an electric charge is required to kill a fly, designing it so that it's safe for humans and animals to be near without hurting them, and making sure that people understand that it shouldn't be used near water.

Trap Type #3: Jar w/ Narrow Entrance
A simple type of fly trap is a jar with a very narrow entrance. The hole is large enough for flies to enter, but small enough that they can't find their way back out easily. Engineering this type of trap involves: finding something that flies like to use as bait in the jar, finding out which material is good for the top of the jar, and figuring out how large to make the hole.

Summary/Conclusion
There are at least three separate types of fly traps, each of which catches flies, even though they do it in different ways. Different engineering principles are needed for the different traps.

Step11:the train car goes down the ramp(hill).Energy Transfer: Potential to Kinetic,Incline plane. Acceleration of train car determined by a=m/F.
Step 10:the ruler then trrigers another train car.Energy Transfer: Potential to Kinetic, Incline plane.
Step 9:the weight drops down on a ruler(cut yard stick).Energy Transfer: Lever
Step 8:the ball then triggers a weight. Energy Transfer: pulley
Step 7:the new golf ball goes down a ramp(half pipe).Energy Transfer: Potential to Kinetic,Incline plane.
Step 6:the train car hits another golf ball.Energy Transfer: newton's 2nd law.
Step 5:The ball then hits the train car.Energy Transfer: newton's 2nd law. Speed of train car determined by speed and mass of car relative to mass of ball.
Step 4:The ball then goes through the tunnel(pringle can).Energy Transfer: Potential to Kinetic,Incline plane.
Step 3:the ball goes down the half pipe.Energy Transfer: Potential to Kinetic,Incline plane.
Step 2:The ball goes down the blue slide.Energy Transfer: Potential to Kinetic,Incline plane.
Step 1:The golf ball goes through the hole in the orange circle.Energy Transfer: Potential to Kinetic,Incline plane.

 Yong won, Tamea, Iasiah, Jacey are working here. We are working.Hunter, Tyreshia, Elora, and Fidele are on contruction trying the old steps and waiting on the design to come up with more steps and theme is rocking ideas to make people come to the competetion and, decorating.We think we are find doing well. The design team is watching videos and coming up with ideas for the rube and concentrating on materials for the rube. Alot of this staterd with a whole bunch of problems.Now were getting it together.They are strugled with rope and try to use material wisely.They got little longer steps,and design teams are watching video as usual.Energy transfer trough the fan is like a pulley because the weight pulling a string and making a fan spin and the weight hits a truck and goes down the ramp and knocks down the dominoes and hits a marble and it goes through a toliet paper roll.

feb.18th

Rodnesha,yong won,& ben are working on a project.and our project includes metal, and tools.and the objects that we have are: fans,and some toys.And what the fan does is spin when the golf ball hits it.And the little metal piece goes up and hits a car.And the car goes down the ramp and hits the dominoes.and that's what will be the end of how the project works. now let's talk about the design team. well, the design team watches videos and figures out how some other projects work. And that's the end of this discussion

Theme team report.The theme team is making posters for the competion.Also coming up with themes.In the constuction team they are redoing the starting point and gluing a few boxes and connecting a half pipe and connecting a pringle box.we are trying to make it seem dificult but a awsome project.And thats what we will be doing for construction.I met up with one of the design team's opritives. his desgn is one of a kind. I think the contruction team will add his design to the project.And also at the starting point they have a little slide that they roll the ball down.and also we will tell you what we well be using boxes,rail road tracks,metal,pipes,3 blue tray and that will be all but more we have to tell about iI just found out that at the end of the ball hitting the skinny pipe it goes into to a small box.

room 222 #4

Design team is watching videos for ideas to make for the construction team to try. Contrution team report. They are still working on the same project still searcing for better soloutins.Adding on to the project.They put a golf ball in a train end and they push it and the train hits another golf ball and the golf ball hits a copper pipe and it knocks a door knob and the door knob hits a leaver. Also the construton team glued mr.kens glasses to the board.We found out it is a rule that you can't do that. the popsicle stikes were holding the pipe still and put the popsicle inside the train car so it doesn't roll down.we just found out the leaver trows off a ball and  the ball flies into the air.Well the theme team is looking at pictures of Justin bieber and printed about 15 coppies lots of coppies.Not using time wisly.We just found out that the pole that holds up the door knob up they put a pole with a fan on it and the knob yanks the fan and makes it go round very fast.

 designs  team    report, first theres the mentos box  then theres the 2 rulers,the ball rolls down the half  pipe, and into the box, pulling a string  through  the pulley and lifting the mentos box .

construction teams report, they fisrt use a cupri sun box to elevate the train tracks and the half pipe the popsicle sticks hold up the half pipe. They used the hot glue gun to stick everything down.

advertising team report they are making posters to hang around the school to inform them about the Rube  Goldberg competition on March 6
